Continuing with the idea of success, we shift from confidence to the notion of streams. In the business world, streams are currents of income that provide us with the ability to manage, maintain, and advance our lives (and businesses themselves!). It’s a way to maintain our lifestyles and our businesses without the fear of insufficiency in any specific area.
Did you know that God foretold that we’d need multiple streams to be successful? Did you know that such streams have a purpose and a role in our spiritual advancement as well? Well, let’s take a look together:
Psalms 1:3 (KJV) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
This verse segues into this idea of being planted properly. The previous two verses, when analyzed together, hint that your delight must be come from the law of the Lord and your meditation should be as such both day and night. This is what it takes to be a blessed man. Thus, you’ve to be planted in the Word of God.
1. Planted Properly
The streams will flow when you’re planted properly.
Success isn’t dictated by numbers or money, but rather by your ability to be planted properly! And to be properly planted means to be planted in the Word of God!
Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive…
God intends for us to be “successful” when we’re planted properly in the Word of God! So, when you’re properly planted, you’ll find “rivers of water.” Water is the source of life, flowing into rivers, and rivers, in the plural form, means multiple or more than one river. Thus, we’re planted in a place where we’ve multiple streams of income just by being planted in the Word of God! Make sure you’re planted properly because that’s where you’ll find the life source and meaning for all that you do!
Philippians 2:16 (KJV) Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
2. Promised Longevity
Society changes based on fads and technology, but God promises that your success will have longevity.
If a fad changes, your success could plummet. Adversely, if you’re wise, you can ride the tide of change and skyrocket. Returning to the world of business, you must have an adequate approximation of the pulse of society in order to ride those waves and remain successful.
However, when planted properly, God has promised that you’ll have longevity! Consider this phrase: “Bringing forth HIS fruit in HIS season; HIS leaf also shall not wither.” Hence, when it’s your season, you’ll produce fruit and have abundance in your season. But, honestly, that’s expected! I anticipate being productive when it’s my season. But what happens when it’s not my season?
God says “and his leaf also shall not wither.” As seasons change, the leaves wither and fall away, leaving trees barren. However, leaves will not wither away when trees have been planted properly! So, when it’s not my season, I’ll still stand out from the rest and live in the longevity of God’s promise! A stream follows the path laid out for it, and when the source of the stream continues to flow, the stream never dries up. There’s longevity in the success God has planned for you! Your stability is ensured when you’re planted in the right place.
3. Prosperous Responsibility
Prosperity is in your hands, and what you do with it is up to you!
“And whatsoever he DOETH shall prosper.” In this last part of the verse, God not only promises prosperity, He also places responsibility for YOUR prosperity on YOU! When you’re planted properly, whatever you touch prospers! But, I warn you, that if you do nothing, that’ll prosper too! How? Well, doing nothing will produce nothing, and that nothing will by multiplied! But, if you do a little, that little will prosper. And if you do a lot, the lot will prosper!
There’s no need to wait for something to happen, God has ALREADY attached prosperity to your own DOING!
Do the work this year! Put in the effort to produce your prosperity…it’s in your hands! Those streams of income will be a result of the work you’ve done!
