The Coronation Book Review

The Coronation Book Review

This story is a tale of the weeks leading up to the family tradition of crowning a new king, the next in line to sit on the throne and rule a nation.  This story made me think of being created by the King of Kings and being destined for a specific purpose. Each child of the king had their specific place in the kingdom just as we, the children of the Most High each have our place in the kingdom of God. This book is packed with situations we can all relate to in our everyday lives, love, frustration, selfishness, fears of adequateness, rebellion, unforgiveness and more, with the added truths that the bible speaks of.

Every character in this story faces trials that deal with the seat of our emotions, the heart. And I love the way that the author interjects the word of God that speaks to the current situation each faces. The bible holds the solutions or answers to the questions we have regardless of how issues present themselves. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin.” The author conveys this throughout this book.

This book so graciously shares the truth of life that we all face whether rich or poor we share the same types of struggles but the one that rescues us from them all is the same. He is no respecter of persons. No matter the age I think we all can learn something from this book. In my opinion this book is great for upcoming teenagers and young adults but I enjoyed every minute of it. It touched on things of my youth that I wished I had paid more attention to the word in. But we all have our paths to take and as the saying goes, “There is no testimony without the test.”

Thank you to the author Livy Jarmusch for the pleasure of reading such a divine story full of character, that relates to life. It may be a work of fiction but God has his way of using us to deliver his powerful message through many means and I believe this is one of those many ways. I pray that this book touches the hearts of many and draws them ever so closer to the Lord. Help others to develop their relationships with him and know that all things work together for the good of them who love Christ Jesus.
