Daily Prayer August 16, 2016

ephesians3-14-19For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. — Ephesians 3:14–19 

Lord as I sit and read and reread this scripture help me to know the depth of it, retain it and keep it at the forefront of my mind today and the remainder of my days. I recognize that I am far behind where You would have me to be and I have not spent the time that my spirit and my soul is in desperate need of with You. And for this reason I humbly ask for Your forgiveness.

I stand in great need of You on today. My soul is in need and my heart is in trouble. My heart, my mind, my spirit and my soul oh God is off track and I feel like a fish out of water. As a fish cannot live out of water, so can I not live without You. I cannot maintain on my own or function or breathe without You. Your word say, “In You do I live, move and have my being.” Everyday that I spend my time out of Your presence is a slow death and that should not and does not sit well with me.

I desperately need to communicate with You, seek You, worship You and praise You with every fiber of who I am. Thank You that Your love for me is so great that it surpasses all understanding. I am unworthy of Your love, kindness, grace, mercy and favor, but yet You find it in Your heart to bestow those very things upon me everyday that I open my eyes and have breath in my body, the activity of my limbs, sight, speech, hearing and a sound mind.

Lord if You will, place me back on Your potter’s wheel and make me over. Not because I think You have not done well with me but because I want to be more like You. The places I have made wrong decisions make me over, where I lagged behind make me over, where I draw back make me over, where I have fear and doubt make me over, where I fail make me over, where I lack love and compassion Lord please make me over.

Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the Law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep His statutes and seek Him with all their heart. — Psalm 119:1-2
