Come, Come Draw Nigh To Me

Come, Come Draw Nigh To Me

One day I made the decision to in my heart that I would start each and every morning with God. As I desired this I began to see the change and the desire of my heart was being fulfilled. I found that when I awake each morning that God is the first thing on my mind. It was no longer the man I though I would be with. And I felt more joy and peace having God on my heart than some no good earthly man. But as I learn to wait on God and look for Him the moment I open my eyes, or more so before my eyes are even open. , God will show up and He will speak to me before I can even get out of bed. God is so awesome.
I am no where near a bible scholar and will never say I know every word in the bible, because I don’t. Ninety percent of the time I can’t tell you off hand where a scripture is found. I can know the story but I can’t tell you where to find it. But what I can do is grab my bible concordance and look up at least one of the main words or verses an it always leads me to exactly what I need.

So as I was saying often times when God speaks to me I may not know what He is saying. I mean I hear Him but I don’t know if what He is saying is a direct scripture or just something He wants me to know. But even when it is something He wants me to know there is still scriptures that I find in His word to back it up.

This morning I heard God say “Come, come, draw nigh to me.” I didn’t know whether to get out of bed and start walking or lay here and wait. Oh I am notorious for laying in bed and waiting to hear from God because I feel like I need as much quiet and stillness as possible. And sudden movement from me while I am listening will distract me and my attention will run away like I have ADHD. It’s funny the same way our kids do us is the same way we do God. I can be talking to one of my kids and if something grabs their attention in the middle of my sentence, their mind is gone, no longer focused on what I’m saying. Ha! See how my focus just shifted! Anyway back to the point….As I wait and listened to God He just kept repeating this sentence and it sounded very familiar to me, I knew it but now I had to find it in the word. Oh I love how God works like a mystery case. He will give you bits and pieces and you have to solve the rest. So my hunt started and bingo! With my Strong’s Bible Concordanceand my bible in hand I found the scripture.
James 4:8 (KJV)8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. And the Amplified (AMP) says, 8 Come close to God and He will come close to you.

My response to God is this, Lord how do I draw or come closer to You because I do not claim to know how, not of my own strength. Help me to come closer to You. I will do all that I know how to do but the rest I give unto you to lead and guide me to You. Help me to cast down the thoughts that come to tell me that I am dumb or stupid because I do not know. Lord I need You, In JESUS Name I pray. Amen
