As a man looks on a woman with pure love in his heart, with a longing to share his deepest secrets and his hearts desires with that one woman he finds to be special in his eyes, so does the Lord see us in the same way. He said in His word that He loves us with an everlasting love meaning He loved us before time (Jeremiah 1:5), He loves us now and He will love us forever. There is a song that says, “What love is this, that you gave your life for me and made a way for me to know you.” As I sing that song God answers me and He said it is an everlasting love, a pure love. Pure as in unspotted, clean, free from blemishes, uncontaminated….simple love. Like pure gold.
It is He who dries the tears in our eyes. It is He who soothes the aching heart. It is He who gentle wakes us in the morning with His colorful dance across the sky as the sun rises. It is He who we confide in and worry not about Him telling our secrets to others. It is He who provides everything that we need. Matthew 6:31-32 says, Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. I know not a man that can provide me with everything I could ever possibly thing I need. To be able to rest knowing He has carefully planned out my days and the only thing I need to focus my undivided attention on is Him.
And as He knows me and we delight in each other he said in Isaiah 65:24, And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear all because He knows me inside and out down to the very number of hairs on my head (Matthew 10:30).
He said, “therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” That is where the intimacy stepped in for me. With everything I have found in Christ is has taken me to another place where I want and need a close association with my Father, my Husband, my Confidant, and most of all my Friend. I find myself longing for detailed knowledge and deep understanding of His heart. He is more affectionate than any man has ever been, He’s personal and although He is this way, it is towards every one of us. We only need to come to Him, to be still and know that He is. James 4:8 (AMP) Come close to God and He will come close to you. Recognize that you are sinners, get your soiled hands clean; realize that you have been disloyal wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts of your spiritual adultery.
When you get a moment read Psalms 63:1-8. Oh how I desire to be bathed by God in His intimacy and to return the everlasting love!
