Quiet Moments

Prayer corner

I find myself longing for moments during the nights and days that I can spend intimate time alone with God. It’s during those times that I can relax, be completely free, and unload the plethora of things that consume me good or bad. I can tell my best friend every feeling, emotion, thought, secret and doubt and every fear I have encountered. The more I seek Christ the more of Him I find myself wanting. I’m feeling like an addict in search of a drug. But Jesus is better than any drug. He is the breath that I breathe, the bread of life that sustains me, and the one who keeps my heart from failing. He is my addiction of choice.

It is true that when you commit your ways to the Lord, He begins to change you. And being in His presence cause me to desire more and more of Him and less of myself. There is nothing like the presence of God. The peace that washes over and melts away the stresses and troubles that He said we would have. This revelation I’m experiencing right now in my walk with Jesus is somewhat indescribable. I feel such a joy down on the inside just to know that my heart, mind and soul loves Jesus more than ever before.

Psalms 42:1-2 (AMP) says, As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks,
So my soul pants [longingly] for You, O God.
2 My soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God.
When will I come and see the face of God?“.

So does my heart long for those moments alone with God. Not just in the times of trials or trouble but even more so when joy and gladness or my portion. Now that I’m married again, time spent in prayer with my husband is new and great. We can share as one with God but it still doesn’t compare to just God and myself. I’ve created a space in my home, since it is small, my space is a little corner nook in my home. My prayer corner. I was so excited to put this space together so that I could have a place where I could sit with Jesus and fellowship with Him. It’s a small space but it has a big anointing. Why because I asked God for a place to be with Him.

Prayer: Lord thank You for being ever present that we may come and sit to fellowship with You. Thank you that in those quiet times alone with You we can pour out to You all that we are, are not, and how we feel and can seek You for your wisdom, guidance, friendship, and intimacy. You are the provider of all things. As we look to you, in You we find hope and strength for this journey we are on. You know our beginning and our end, so You know before we can ever come to You all that we are in need of emotionally, spiritually, ad physically, there is nothing we can hide or keep from You. Thank You that every answer we need for every question we could ever ask can be found in You. In Jesus name. Amen.

Bind God’s Word Upon My Neck

Proverbs 6:20-22 scripture

This passage of scripture was speaking towards adultery and was a warning and given wisdom of how to not be seduced by the sexual and immoral sins. But as I looked at the words of God I saw more than just that. His word leaps from the pages and shows me how to keep God’s word as close to me as it can get.  Bind means to tie or fasten tightly together. This means I can tightly hold on to God’s unchanging word that provides security for my life. This is the only attachment to something that I want to have.

So many things in this world want to attach themselves to us. Fear, rejection, doubt, poverty, sickness. But t I attache myself to the word of God all of those blood and life sucking leeches have no other option that to detach themselves. Why? Because James 2:19 says, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

In Luke Jesus appointed seventy disciples and sent them out before Him into every city and place to spread the gospel. He told them to carry nothing with them. They were to grant peace in every home they entered and fellowship in the same homes and heal the sick. Who ever received them, received Jesus and whoever did not received them, did not receive Jesus. That same seventy returned to Jesus with joy saying to Jesus, “Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.”

This is because Jesus had given them all power over their enemy and he could not hurt them. God has done the same for us. He has given us power and that power can only be discovered in His word. When we discover that power, hold tight to it! A thought came to mind as I am writing this. Witches and warlocks wear magical amulets around their necks that they say posses power. But what more for us in Christ Jesus that tie His word around our necks and carry it with us!

But remember to not get overly excited about those spirits being subject to us. But rejoice more because your name is written in heaven.

5 Declarations of Faith

Declare the works and word of God.

Today I want to offer you 5 declarations of faith to speak over your life. Declaring these powerful words of wisdom from God word will bring about change in your life. God’s word says that there is power in our tongue to speak life and death. But which will we choose to do. I admonish you to speak life into every area of your life, into every situation, and over the lives and situations of love ones, friends, family, strangers and yes, even your enemies. We are to pray for them as well you know. It will do our hearts good to do so.

Here are the 5 declarations:

  1. The communication of my faith will become effectual by the acknowledging every good thing which is in me in Christ Jesus. (Philemon 1:6)
  2. I let no corrupt words come out of my mouth but that which is good to edifying. (Ephesians 4:29)
  3. I walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in all respects. I bear fruit in every good work and I am increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).
  4. I give and I receive. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will it be put into my lap (Luke 6:38).
  5.  I decree that I will operate in trust, fear of the LORD, obedience, love and humility in Jesus name.

Begin to speak these daily for the next week. Meditate on each one. And watch as the manifestation of your words begin to produce good fruits in your life.

My prayer for you:

Psalms 19:7-14

The law of the Lord is perfect (flawless), restoring and refreshing the soul;
The statutes of the Lord are reliable and trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true, they are righteous altogether.
10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned [reminded, illuminated, and instructed];
In keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors or omissions? Acquit me of hidden (unconscious, unintended) faults.
13 Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous (deliberate, willful) sins;
Let them not rule and have control over me.
Then I will be blameless (complete),
And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight,
O Lord, my [firm, immovable] rock and my Redeemer.

God Don’t Make Mistakes

Life is God's novel. Let Him write it.

Deuteronomy 32:4 AMP

He is the Rock, His work is perfect, for all His ways are law and justice. A God of faithfulness without breach or deviation, just and right is He.

Ecclesiastes 3:14 AMP

I know that whatever God does, it endures forever; nothing can be added to it nor anything taken from it. And God does it so that men will [reverently] fear Him [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is].

Have you ever had someone out of the blue stop to talk to you and you think they are rambling on but you listen anyway? At some point while they are talking they say something that you know they should not know about you, an right then you know that it’s God. It happened to me about four years back an the small thing he said was so great in my heart it brought me to tears. As I shook the man’s hand I heard, “God don’t make mistakes.”

See we make plans for our lives. We have life long plans, yearly plans, monthly plans on down to our daily plans. And if we take a look back at our life those plans very seldom turned out exactly the way that we intended. Things happen, stuff gets in the way. But in God we have this anchor that we can hold on to and know that the plans and promises of God will turn out just as He has planned for us. His plan is perfect. We just have to trust in Him and not in ourselves. He knows every bump and curve that we will encounter along the way and He has already worked them out for us.

God is unchanged and He is a God of stability and assurance. He is active in our everyday lives and all that He does for us is good. We need not try to add/subtract one ounce from it. This life we live, it is His story. Let Him write it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we know that Your plans for our lives is perfect, for You make no mistakes. You know who You have created us to be and what You have designed us to do in this life. Help us to trust You when we don’t understand Your plan and to trust that all things will work out in Your good timing. Thank you for being the Rock that we can stand firmly upon and proclaim Your gospel to the world, through living for You and not our own selfish desires. Thank You that what You do for us will last forever. For You deserve all of the glory and honor, forever. Amen.
