Jesus Leaves His Peace

Peace with clouds

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Peace – freedom from war, trouble, or disturbance.

Troubled – 1. emotionally or mentally distressed. 2. economically or socially distressed.

Afraid – 1. frightened or fearful 2. reluctant or regretful.

We have so many things going on in this world day to day we tend to ask the question, ” When will I get a moments peace?” Or better yet as Christians and people of  God we go through trials and storms because we serve the Lord. We are constantly under attack from the enemy and it seems as though we will never make it out or have any peace.

But Jesus says that he leaves us with his peace. That mean that through our faith we can have peace even in the mist of our trials. It is a peace that no man can give us and the world can not take away. For instance yesterday’s weather was bad, terrible winds, rain and tornadoes. People and businesses lost power, building and homes were destroyed. But for me, I had peace that I know could have only come from God because I felt like there was no storms. I did not worry or fret about my home or losing power. I was even out and about running errands at one point the enemy said, “Your car is going to blow over in this wind and that car beside you is going to land on top of you and your car.” But I had faith in God and through that faith I had a peace come over me that told me that God was protecting me and I had nothing to worry about or to be afraid of. I have a peace when I am going through my trials because I trust God to bring me out safely, I know who I am in Him an I am learning to use what He has given me. We need to know who we are in Christ and what He has given us. Will you make Jesus Christ the head of your life and let Him give you His peace that the world can not take away?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Your everlasting love, Your mercy and Your grace. Thank you for Your word, that when I open it, there I will find all that I need to sustain myself in this life on earth for such a time as what we live in now. With all of the troubles in the world, You have given me peace that surpasses all human understanding. For I do not have to know the full mysteries of it, I just need to believe, trust You and walk in it. When I walk in Your peace I know that I am surrounded by Your love and protection. I know that even if the outcomes of my tribulations are not what I would expect or hope for it to be I have freedom in knowing that all IS well.

Spirit Of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We do not have to be afraid of anything. Fear comes from the enemy. So therefore we do not have to be afraid to speak the truth about Christ. He gave us hearts to love one another and have compassion for each other. He gave us a mind to think for ourselves and to seek the truth so that we should be saved from sin.

Don’t fear but have faith that God will supply all of our needs according to His will.

This scripture truly speaks for itself.

Friendly Encouragement

Storm over waterThe joy of the Lord is my strength and in Him will I trust. It’s something amazing about a friend, acquaintance, or even a stranger that reaches out to you just to ask how you are doing. I had ministering friend from back how text me this morning and ask how my husband was doing after his surgery. I shared with her and she said to make sure I got a bit of “Me time” during this difficult time. I then asked about her and she shared. I was let to send her a short prayer asking for the peace of God to saturate her life and for God to renew and refresh her mind, body and spirit. Philippians 4:7 (KJV) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; I thanks God for the friendship with her, which I truly value and  I went on to read the morning message I receive from another friend every morning by text.

This friend sends and encouraging word every morning from a 365 daily devotional he reads. I had not read it in the last two days so I got a double dose of inspiration this morning. Between both friends my soul and spirit is overjoyed and uplifted in the name of Jesus. There are some trials and tribulation that have come, as recent as last night, to test me. But I resolve to knowing that God fights my battles and as I told my dear sister in Christ, I know that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will keep my heart and me as a whole. I was angered to a boiling point last night, but I thank God that I did not lash out but I turned to Him and told Him that I was angry and I did not want to fight this battle. My prayer is that He lead me in how to respond and that He will handle the situation. What ever the outcome is and how ever long it takes I just want to have His peace saturate my life and when the storms blow and the wind won’t cease, may Jesus bid me to come to Him walking on the water and I not be afraid or take my eyes off of Him. May I have great faith and not hear the words, “Oh ye of little faith.”
